SMA Awareness!

1 in 40 or 7.5 million Americans are carriers of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Do you know if you are a carrier?  Spinal Muscular Atrophy is the #1 genetic killer of children!

SMA Carriers

I’ve heard of SMA before but have never researched it until last night.  A fellow Zebra has a daughter affected by it.  Since genetic diseases are near and dear to my heart, I had to look it up.  I was shocked at what I saw.  There are two types of SMA. Type 0 and Type 1 – Type 1 being the deadliest.

Please take a moment to pray for the families affected by this.  Let’s pray for a cure. In the meantime, let’s show our support to these families and help raise awareness!

SMA Candle

Light a candle in honor of them! SMA colors are purple, but white will do.  You can always use the above picture. I created this myself using Pink Zebra’s Sprinkles.

Thanks for stopping by! You can visit me online at or on Facebook!

About Sprinkles of Faith

I am wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I have 5 kids who are amazing. I enjoy home schooling, gardening, and living my simple farm life. My mother went home to be with Jesus in 2013. Through pain and heartache my husband and I started on a new adventure that is changing our lives. Pink Zebra. After less than 4 short months with the company, I promoted 3 times. I am now an Executive Manager and Kenan is a Manager! Kenan and I love working for such a great company and meeting so many new people. Sprinkles of Faith is dedicated in loving memory of my mother. Check out my website to learn more about Pink Zebra. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as for the Lord, not for men." Colossians 3:23
